Michigan provides several public ways to trace a custody change, but no single database covers them all. The Chippewa County Sheriff correctional facility creates the county booking and release record. MDOC runs OTIS, which can show parole, a date paroled, discharge, probation, and prison location. The MiCOURT search provides case context, while federal tools cover separate populations. This site explains how those records fit together and how to request durable proof from the office that owns it.
